In the late 1970s, American-made machine tool products struggled to meet industry demands for higher precision parts and faster turnaround times. Recognizing this need, Bill Selway secured a distributorship with Matsuura, a renowned Japanese precision CNC builder. This partnership established Selway Machine Tool Co as one of the first dealerships on the West Coast United States to offer overseas product lines.
